WITH THE VALUE OF 221MILLION SAR, THE NATIONAL WATER COMPANY (NWC) HAS SIGNED THE EASTERN SECTOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT CONTRACT WITH THE CONSORTIUM OF MIAHONA SAUDI COMPANY, MANILLA WATER FROM PHILIPPINES AND FRANCE’S SAUR GROUP.
The contract signing event has been hosted by NWC in their HQ with the presence of His Excellency Eng. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al Fadhli, The Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture “MEWA”, Chairman of the Board of NWC, sponsored the signing ceremony of the contract. The contract has been signed between the Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Mowkely, NWC CEO, and the consortium representative Eng. Awaadh Al Otaibi, Miahona CEO, and Manilla water and SAUR group.
The National Water Company (NWC) announced, that the Saudi French-Philippines consortium of Saudi Arabia’s “Miahona”, France’s Saur Group, and the Philippine’s “Manila Water” won the third management contract. The consortium will undertake the operation of the water and environmental treatment services in the Eastern Cluster (Eastern Region), at a value of more than 221 million Saudi Riyals, for Seven years.
NWC stated that the winning consortium has experience in water services and environmental treatment management, led by Miahona (One of Vision Global Investment subsidiaries of the Abunian and Al-Muhaidib groups) is a leading developer of the water infrastructure in the last 20 years.
Al-Mowkely added that management contracts are one of the main pillars for improving the sector and equipping it for full privatization. By awarding this contract, we have completed the award of three contracts for the management of operation and maintenance, and we intend, with the help of God, to complete our implementation program by awarding management contracts for the remaining clusters, namely Western Cluster, Southern Cluster, and Northern Cluster by the end of December 2021.
